4. Treasurer Report
a. Reiteration of Executive Board meeting, changes finalized by 3rd Monday in September.
b. Member questioned legislative line item- Sherry explained it’s for updating bylaws, etc
c. We need a parliamentarian.
d. Stressed to members that transparency is important to us.
5. Presidents Report
a. Need to push for new members
b. Membership money goes for scholarships, Bo Ford award, technology for students and media center, grants for teachers. PTA raises about $20k for school each year.

a. Miss Brookwood
i. Our premier fundraiser, open to girls in 9th-12th grade
ii. Not necessarily a beauty contest, several categories
1. Poise
2. Essay
iii. 30 to 40 girls competing, max, but 20 is optimal
iv. Covid was disruptive- we need new people, new sponsorships
v. Rachel Burgin was on the Miss Tampa board, Miss America FL board, can offer assistance
b. Brick Walkway- will have a sample at parent nights to encourage people to buy.
7. New Business
a. Reflections
i. National themed art contest
ii. First level is students at BHS- winners proceed to Area 1 level, then state, then national
iii. Different categories: visual art, writing, photography, digital short, music, dance, etc
iv. 2022-23 theme is “Show Your Voice”
v. Need to figure out how to better promote this- maybe tiktok from drama teacher?
b. Homecoming Parade
i. 9/23 is parade- need work day before that for float
ii. Sonya will head this up
iii. Need volunteers
iv. Float is for Miss Brookwood winners- could also just have a car/cars
